OUR GRAVEL PROGRAM
IS GROWING
We want to share the best of Garda gravel with experienced riders who are comfortable leaving the tarmac. Our off road rides go beyond flat, straight out-and-backs. A typical GBH gravel ride connects vineyard paths, follow single track along a river, climb a steep trail to a panoramic vista, and descends paved roads home. Along the way, we explore off-road treasures, including castle towns, forts, vineyards and the region’s extensive nature parks.
GARDA GRAVEL REGIONS
Our experienced gravel guides have created unique gravel routes that prioritize fun, access to unbeatable scenery, and an escape into the quiet countryside. The terrain varies, but mainly incorporates hard-packed farm roads and designated gravel paths, with occasional sections of double track or single track. Our Pinarello Grevil bicycles are equipped with tires that our guides have specifically chosen for performance, control, and comfort in this area.
COLLINE MORENICHE AREA
The glaciers that gouged Lake Garda left behind the rocky moraine that forms these hills, or colline, making this area number one for gravel. The colline offer short, pitchy climbs, with plenty of zigs and zags through woods, orchards, and the vineyards that grow some of the world’s best wines. Our guide Michele says his heart beats “colline moreniche, colline moreniche.”
LAKE GARDA
AREA
Rolling foothills embrace farms, vineyards, and river plains around the southern part of Garda. Pedal through pretty lakeside towns, then escape tourists and tarmac to meander up to castles and villages few people get to see. Follow the paths of Napoleon to panoramas that show why this area has been fought over for centuries.
VALPOLICELLA
WINE AREA
The Adige River carves through marble canyons and sweeps through the Valpolicella valley, making the region exceptional for wine making and gravel riding. Weave up the Adige as cliffs rise white on both sides. High above, stone forts stand guard. Climb to the forts and stunning views, or explore the forested foothills that surround the valley. From any direction, paths flow fast through world class vineyards all the way back to the hotel.
LESSINIA
MOUNTAIN AREA
Lessinia is a pre-Alpine geographical area that extends mainly in the province of Verona, partially touching those of Trento and Vicenza. Without going into too much detail about the geographical conformation, worthy of note, for those who practice gravel, is the high gravel road which, first climbing, then remaining at fairly constant altitudes, transversally connects the westernmost part (Passo Fittanze) with one of the most eastern parts (Malga San Giorgio) and vice versa obviously: Translessinia.
