“La Dolce Vita del Garda” is the perfect package for leisurely cyclists who want to “tour & taste” Italy by bike.
“The Dolce Vita” week is perfect for leisurely cyclists who want to tour Italy by bike. The rides are led by a local guide who speaks English and is knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. The rides are shorter and along the route cyclists will stop to tour interesting (and beautifully photographable!) locations without incorporating a lot of challenging terrain. A support van will follow the group throughout the ride.
“With a focus on local, artisanal food and wine… you’ll cycle to authentic farms, vineyards and kitchens in our region, as well as to lakeside and hilltop ancient villages. During your stay, you’ll participate in leisurely destination rides, visiting a winery, a cheesemaker, a tortellini kitchen, and visit local towns that have no shortage of gelaterias and local specialty shops.
Most of the daily rides will include a regular and a longer option, so that several levels of cyclists can be accommodated. And, with 100 percent van support, you will be able to ride as little or as much as you want.

PROGRAM
Day 1
Saturday
Arrival, welcome and briefing. Once you arrive, you’ll have a chance to settle in and then have your bike fitting and a bike review on shifters, braking, riding in Italy, etc.
Day 2
Sunday
We will take you cycling through the vineyards and olive trees of the areas just outside of Lake Garda in Custoza and Sommacampagna. Our destination is the town of Villafranca, with its wonderful castle. Cycling along these characteristic panoramic roads, you will discover the beauty of the area, with its rolling hills and its villages. After lunch in Villafranca, we will return to Peschiera del Garda passing through the charming town of Valeggio sul Mincio.
Day 3
Monday
Today’s tour is dedicated to two of the most scenic places on Lake Garda: Sirmione and Punta San Vigilio. Sirmione is famous for its Scagliera castle and its spa, but also has been appreciated for its beauty by historical figures such as Maria Callas, James Joyce and D’Annunzio. From there, we will be lulled by the waters of the lake and admire breathtaking landscapes from the boat ride that will take us to Punta San Vigilio. This is a unique location on the east bank of the lake where Sir W. Churchill would spend his time painting.
We’ll have lunch a relaxing lunch on the lake and then we’ll have a short bike ride to the village of Garda, where we pick up the ferry for our return to Peschiera.
Day 4
Tuesday
An exciting ride through the Morainic hills, often called “the northern Tuscany.” Our cycling route takes us among vineyards and breathtaking landscapes, an unforgettable experience to embrace the beauty of nature and savor the authentic charm of this region. Ride with us through the streets of this Italian jewel. We will stop along the way for lunch in an “out of the way” restaurant, to try the local specialties.
Day 5
Wednesday
Today we will leave the bike parked at the hotel and take the opportunity to immerse ourselves by foot through the enchanting streets and picturesque squares of the city of Verona. From the majestic Arena to the ancient Piazza Erbe, up to the marvelous Ponte Pietra from which a breathtaking view opens up to the Roman Theater and Castel San Pietro on the Torricelle, we will take a journey through the art and culture of Verona. We will have lunch in Verona, but also plenty of opportunites for coffee, pastry and gelato to fuel our walking!
Day 6
Thursday
Today we will cycle through the vineyards and hills of Valpolicella, an area famous for its world-renowned wine. Over panoramic roads and paths through the vineyards, you will be able to savor the beauty of this area’s fine vineyards, charming villages and iconic wine cellars. Perhaps we will be able to sip the famous Valpolicella wine at lunch.
Day 7
Friday
Defined by Winston Churchill as the eighth wonder of the world, Tremosine is also known as the ‘Strada della Forra’. One of the most beautiful roads in the world and featured in the very dramatic opening scenes of the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, the road provides a unique view of the lake facing Monte Baldo and Malcesine.
We will take you pedaling along the spectacular curves and breathtaking scenery of this road nestled between rock walls. An exciting experience that will make you experience the magic of this film location and will give you unforgettable views of the beauty of Lake Garda. Lunch and snack stops along the way of this magnificent trip.
