We love when the Giro D’Italia comes to our part of Italy…the excitement, the passion, the glory that it fills our neighbourhoods and villages and touches everyone. We relish the spirit of the Giro, as our world turns pink.
Sharing our love of the Giro with friends and guests is personal for us. It is the most authentic Italian cycling experience we have, and it is right in our backyard. There’s no better holiday for the avid cyclist that appreciates the pro peloton and the history and culture of this great race. Let us show you our Giro.
We have been taking our guests to the Giro for over 10 years, and with our experience and local knowledge, we’ll ensure that you experience the action of the Giro first-hand, taking you to many of the stages in Northern Italy to see the pros do battle.
With so much Giro 2024 action taking place in Northern Italy, we are fortunate to be able to use our 4-star Garda Bike Hotel as home base. Some days we will ride directly to the stage and other days we have just a short drive by van to the stage, giving us the opportunity to ride in a variety of locations.
Garda Bike Hotel will be your host over the entire trip, so no need to move from hotel to hotel, and after exciting days out on the course, you will have time to relax in our warm and inviting atmosphere
At Garda Bike Hotel, we will ensure that you experience the best of northern Italian life, our local dishes and wine, the scenery and landscapes of our mountains and of course, the beautiful Lake Garda. You will ride the difficult climbs and challenging courses, but you will also enjoy stops in a village for an espresso and later for a gelato. When you get home, you’ll remember the excitement of watching the pros live and up close, but you’ll also have wonderful memories of your own epic Italian rides.

ACCOMODATIONS
- Enjoy Garda Hotel: Single or twin shared accommodations in one of our hotel rooms at our Hotel (we also have Jacuzzi Suites upon request).
- Apartments in our Hatelier Garda Home (apartments are a short walk of 150 meters from the Hotel).
MEALS & GOURMET EXPERIENCE
- Breakfast – a full breakfast buffet every morning, with a variety of foods to suit every appetite and diet.
- Lunch – will be in the hotel restaurant or, at a local trattoria or osteria, depending upon the day’s itinerary.
- Dinner – in the hotel restaurant. Sunday dinner is not included and is on your own.

Transfer with our driver and minivan from and to Verona “Valerio Catullo” airport (available from 8 am to 8 pm) with prior arrangement. At extra cost we can arrange private transfers to all the major airports of northern Italy (Milano – Venice – Bergamo)

DETAILED PROGRAM
DAY 1 – Friday 17th May
Check in to your room, learn the hotel surroundings and get a bike fitting. Dinner is at the hotel.
DAY 2 – Saturday 18th May
A nice warm up ride for the first day of our trip. We will ride from the hotel to Castiglione, meandering through farmland and vineyards,to watch the pro cyclists departure on the time trial. It will be a great time to see the pros individually out on the course.
CASTIGLIONE RIDE
70km / 520m
DAY 3 – Sunday 19th May
Today we will ride (van option is available for parts of the ride) to the west side of the lake to watch the departure of the riders from Manerba del Garda. We will have special VIP access to watch the cyclist’s close-up as they warm up and get ready to ride this 15th stage. Our ride will provide plenty of lake views. After we watch the departure, our ride takes us to Val Sabbia where we begin the climb of Passo del Cavallino, 14km long at an average grade of 6.5%. The descent has beautiful views of the lake. We’ll take a ferry to cross the lake and then finish the last several kilometers by bike, riding along the lake.
PASSO DEL CAVALLINO RIDE
130km / 1700m
DAY 4 – Monday 20th May
Today we will take a break from the Giro as it heads north, and instead we will focus on a beautiful ride through the Valpolicella wine region, to the northeast of our hotel. You will enjoy a ride that takes you through the rustic vineyards of the Valpolicella wine area, with several climbs, ascending and descending a variety of the Valpolicella hills, traversing the vineyards famous for Valpolicella and Amarone wines. The views at the top are phenomenal, with the lake in the distance.
VALPOLICELLA RIDE
80km / 1200m
DAY 5 – Tuesday 21st May
Today we have a mountain challenge! We leave the hotel in the morning by van, packed with our bikes. We will start our ride in Bolzano, about 1.5 hours away. Our ride consists of the final 40 km of today’s Giro route, taking us into the Dolomites, including the final climb up Monte Pana. with 1740 meters of elevation. After we ride to the top, we can relax (and we will have shower facilities available) and watch the pros make this ascent. On the way home, we will stop for a special happy hour at the Forst Brewery, the beer of the Dolomites.
BOLZANO TO MONTE PANNA RIDE
50km / 1740m
DAY 6 – Wednesday 22nd May
Our ride today will take us to the south of the Lake and through the Morenic hills region, with its undulating terrain. A perfect place for a recovery ride – scenic and relaxing.
MORENIC HILLS RIDE
65km / 400m
DAY 7 – Thursday 23rd May
Once again, we will travel a short distance from Lake Garda by van. Along the way, we will stop and ride the Colli Euganei, a series of volcanic hills with unique shapes. Then we will stop for a nice lunch, and will make our way by van to the center of the city of Padova to watch the arrival of the pros.
COLLI EUGANEI RIDE
70km / 700m
DAY 8 – Friday 24th May
Today’s ride is a pleasant undulating ride along the lake and then a nice climb of 6km (4 mi) to Albisano.. We will pass through the lake towns of Lazise, Garda and Torri del Beneco where the climb begins and will take us to admire the beautiful view of the lake from up high in Albisano.
VALTENESI RIDE
75km / 800m
DAY 9 – Saturday 25th May
Another exciting day! Today we will take the van to nearby Marostica, the city of Chess, with a life size chessboard in the piazza. We will begin our ride from there, through Bassano del Grappa and then up the famous Monte Grappa. Once at the top, we will have the opportunity to watch the pros climb the mountain twice, from two distinct sides, in a stage that could decide the outcome of the race. It will be an exciting day for sure.
MAROSTICA-MONTE GRAPPA-MAROSTICA RIDE

DAY 10 – Sunday 26th May
After breakfast at the hotel, we will say our goodbyes.

The DOGMA is a high-performance race bike with aggressive geometry. This bike is recommended for high level athletes who regularly ride high performance race bikes and are accustomed to the leaned over and low position, as well as the snappy handling, of this race bike.

It has relaxed geometry making it a comfortable bike, wider tires and longer wheel base, perfect to handle the cobblestone and rough pavement that we often encounter and lower gearing to tackle our bigger hills.
It’s a versatile bike designed for multiple terrains, from road rides to the white (gravel) roads in our area.
For most people, the Grevil is the perfect bike for our rides.

The Nytro is a proper pedal assisted bike (not a scooter).
There are 4 levels of motor usage.
The battery life depends on how the motor is used. (from 40km to more than 80km depending on elevetion).
